Mr. Cooks will be laid to rest Saturday, March 7, 2015 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Edwards, MS.   His services will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Committal will be at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Edwards, MS.   Visitation will be on Friday, March 6, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Willis and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson, MS.

Obituary 

On March 2, 2015, Curtis A. Cooks went to be with our Lord and Savior.  Curtis was born on November 18, 1975 in Vicksburg, Mississippi.  He was a lifelong resident of Edwards, Mississippi.  Curtis confessed his belief in Christ and became a member of Friendship Mississippi Baptist Church of Edwards, Mississippi.

He received his education through the Hinds County Public School System.  A Kind and helpful person, Curtis was always fixing or trying to fix somebody's vehicle.  He hated to see anyone in a bind, especially a female.  he would go out of his way to help anyone in need. 


Curtis was preceded in death by:  his maternal and fraternal grandparents; a sister; several uncles and an aunt.


He  leaves to cherish his memory:  a loving mother, Geatha C. Ponce of Kansas City, Missouri; father James White of Edwards, Mississippi; a son Shuntrell Cooks; brothers, Jaunito Ponce and Desmond Ponce of Kansas City,  Missouri, George Wright, Jr., of Jackson, Mississippi, and Jerry Reed of Vicksburg, Mississippi; a special friend, Denise Lawson of Jackson, Mississippi; dear friend, Bobby Burnett of Edwards, Mississippi; uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
