 | Mr. Singleton will be laid to rest Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Greater Grove Street MB Church, 2715 Alcorn Driver, Vicksburg, MS. His services will begin at 12:00 noon. Committal will be at Bar Ridge Cemetery, Edwards, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Greater Grove Street MB Church, Vicksburg, MS from 11:00 - 12:00 noon. |
Obituary
Mr. Elex Singleton was born December 1, 1943 in Edwards, Mississippi, the son of Ulysses and Vantee (Thomas) Singleton. Elex resided in Bovina, Mississippi and retired from the General Motors in 1995. Elex loved his family, enjoyed keeping his lawn manicured and had a real passion for watching sports.
Elex had a strong sense of family and would do whatever he could to help them. He had a hard exterior, but a soft interior for those he had a close relationship with. he was know for speaking his mind and letting you know exactly how he felt.
Mr. Singleton was preceded in death by: his parents, Ulysses and Vantee Singleton; son, Demarcus Singleton; brothers, Alonzo Singleton, Fred Singleton, Ulysses "Pistol" Singleton, Jr., and nephew Ishmael Maruice Singleton.
Mr. Elex Singleton leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Tracy Payne, Chebor Singleton, and Khary (Elicia) Singleton; nine grandchildren, Travon Payne, Tavelle Monroe, Jr., Orlando Monroe, Derome Hopkins, Jr., Amiri Hopkins, Demarus Singleton, Taylor Sinleton, Jaz Singleton and Khary A. Singleton; ten siblings, Alma Boyd, Eula Brown, Mattie Robinson , John "Pappy" (Marcelina) Singleton,k and Daisy Harbin of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Matilda (Lincoln) Haynes of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Robert "T" Turner of Chicago, Illinois; best friend, Clyde Grant of Flint, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
