Mr. Frank Raymond Hudson

Mr. Hudson will be laid to rest Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Mark Baptist Church, Edwards, MS.  His services will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Committal will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Edwards, MS.  Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Obituary 

Brother Frank Hudson was the first of tree children, born to the late Marie Wigfall-Brown,  on May 1, 1944.  He confessed Christ at an early age, and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church in the Valewood Community in Washington County/Glen Allan, Mississippi.  He served there until he moved to the Edwards Community. 

He received his early childhood education in Glen Allan, Mississippi.  He graduated from Norman O'Bannon High School in 1963.  He later moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he earned his undergraduate and master degrees (graduated magnum cum-laude).  During his Master's program, his concentration was in Urban Planning and Development; he spent one semester studying on the Netherlands.  

He employment history included the Chicago Transit Authority, University Without Walls, Rainbow Push, Freedom Village, Hinds County Board of Supervisors, Department of Energy and Medicaid Division.

He was active in Civil Rights and Human Rights.  He was always willing to help others in need.  He moved to Hinds County and sought membership in St. Mark Baptist Church.  He was later crowned Deacon where he served faithfully until death.  He loved his church and church family.  He made himself available to serve in any capacity where needed.

On December 3, 1996, he married his best friend and love of his life.  No children were born to this union.  He leaves to cherish his life and work on this earth, his loving wife, E. Jean Phillips-Hudson, daughter, Valerie L. Hudson and grandson, Chicago, IL, sister, Brenda Brown, New York, Special Adopted Aunt, Thelma T. Little, Edwards, MS, numerous relatives, friends and classmates.

On July 8, 2015 he made his transition from his early house to his heavenly home.
