​Smith, Glenn Alvin, age 62, from Clinton, Mississippi, died Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements have been scheduled; Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 3, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Willis & Son's Funeral Home at 5235 Robinson Road Ext., Jackson, Mississippi. Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Willis & Son's Funeral Home Chapel. 

Obituary 

"A Time To Be Born"
Glenn Alvin Smith was the first born of eight children.  He was born to the late Younger Smith, Jr. and Mary Rogers Smith on September 27, 1954, in Clinton, Mississippi.  His father; two brothers, Ronnie Dean and Louis Smith; maternal grandparents, Windfield and Eva Rodgers; aunt, Alberta Clark; and stepfather, Sam Marley, all preceded him in death.  

"A Time To Learn"
Glenn received his early education in Hinds County Public Schools in Clinton, Mississippi.  He graduated from Clinton High School in 1973.  He continued his education at Jackson State University and Mississippi College.

"A Time To Love"
Glenn was united in holy matrimony to Helen Harris. To this union one daughter, La Passionera, was born.  He later married Carolyn Soriano, his wife until his death.

"A Time To Work"
Over the years, while living in Mississippi, Glenn was employed by Grant's Department Store, Wells Fargo Bank, and Parker Monument.  He spent a long time caring for his grandparents, Winfield and Eva Rodgers, who loved him dearly.  Glenn relocated to Oklahoma City where he was employed by Radio Electronics.  

"A Time To Mourn"
Glenn leaves to cherish his memories:  A loving and devoted wife, Carolyn Smith; his mother Mary Smith Marley; a daughter, La Passionera (Shawn) Wiggins of Olive Branch, Mississippi; five sisters, Eugenia (Keith) Ferguson, Latonya Marley, Alisa Marley, and Renea Smith, all of Jackson Mississippi; Sharon Rayford of Muskegon, Michigan;  three grandchildren, Natalie, Jillian and Lauren; his mother-in-law, Magdalena Soriano; sister-in-law, Merlita Thompson of Dallas, Texas; a special cousin, Josie Busbee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
