Services

Mr. Clark will be laid to rest Friday, August 21, 2015 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Jackson, MS.  His services will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Committal will be at Autumn Woods Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Jackson, MS.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Obituary 

Henry L Clark was born to Robert Clark & Willie Mae Clark, July 18th, 1957, in Natchez, Mississippi.  There he attended grade school and later attended North Natchez High School where he graduated Class of 1975 receiving a scholarship in music.  Early on, Henry excelled in music and became a hometown soloist, by inspiring numerous people with his unique vocal abilities, Henry became a hometown legend.  

After the passing of his parents, Henry moved to Jackson, Mississippi where he attended the renowned Tougaloo College.  He joined the Tougaloo, College choir where he sharpened his amazing vocal skills and continued his legacy in music.  During his time at Tougaloo he met his lifelong friend and brother, Harry Watson and the Watson family, they would form a lifetime bond of friendship and accomplishments over the next 40 years.

In the early 80's, Henry join the New Heights SDA Church where he served as an ordained deacon, choir member, usher, lead soloist and counselor to young people.  He was a loving friend and shelter for those in need.   His selflessness and dedication was proven over and over again.

Henry (Pop) served the New Heights Family until God called him home on August 12, 2015.  Among his accomplishments; he sang with the Mississippi Mass Choir,  New Heights SDA Choir,  Smith & Clark, JAC, The Voices of Faith, and the Tougaloo Choir.


Henry spent many years working in Hotel Management & Hotel Services.  He also helped to manage St. Joshua's Children's Group Home in Jackson where he inspired young men to turn their lives around, later to bring the gift of a home into his private home where he continued his selfless giving.


Henry is survived by:  one son, Stacey E Smith (Brandy A Smith) of Gulf Port, Mississippi; ten grandchildren - six boys and four girls; one brother, J.W. Hall (Brenda Regina Hall) of Natchez, Mississippi; two aunts, Mrs. Shelley Dickey & Emma Ree Shaw, both of Natchez, Mississippi; one niece, Doris Thomas; one nephew, J.W. Hall Jr. (Squirt); a special cousin, James Clark; and his his brothers in Christ, Harry Watson and Claude Nichols; his New Heights choir family; and a host of cousins and friends whose lives he touched and changed with his Love of God and His Love for Music.
