Allen, Jimmie Lee, age 72, Jackson, Mississippi died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Funeral arrangements have been scheduled visitation Friday, March 24, 2017, 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Willis & Son's Funeral Home, 5235 Robinson Road Ext., Jackson, Mississippi. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017, Willis & Son's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
Obituary
On July 10, 1944 in Leflore County, Mississippi, God blessed Clim Allen and Willie Bell Allen with a dear, precious child, Jimmie Lee Allen.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was raised in the Baptist Church. Though he never received a degree from any formal institution, Jimmie found his genius in forming his own methods to do common task. In his adolescence, Jimmie worked in the field of concrete finishing. At the age of 16 he took his talent to Jackson, Mississippi and eventually formed his own company, "Allen Construction". Aside from his business, Jimmie was a Samaritan among his peers. Jimmie often found himself stopping his vehicle anywhere to help someone in need.
On a trip to Greenville, Mississippi, he met the love of his life, Ada Bell Allen. They enjoyed 47 years of love and devotion.
Jimmie was preceded in death by: his parents, Clim and Willie Bell Allen; a son, Arthur G. Allen; brothers, Clim Allen, Jr., Nethaniel Allen and Arthur Lee Allen; and sisters, Emma Tall and Lula Bell Allen.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved and devoted wife, Ada B. Allen; children, Tiffany (Donavan) Barner, Sandra (Billy) Gaddis, and Grenada Allen all of Jackson, Mississippi, and Jimmy Allen, Jr., of Pascagoula, Mississippi; brothers, Willie Lee Allen of Oxford, Mississippi, Ollie T. Allen of Toledo, Ohio, and George Allen of Milan, Michigan; sisters, Stella Mae Smith of Belzoni, Mississippi and Flossie Jones of Ipsilan, Michigan; grandchild, Denovan Jamal Barner, PV2 Jeremy Rashad Barner and Raphael Antoine Barner all of Jackson, Mississippi, Gabrielle Simone Allen of Belton, Missouri, Billy (Tiffany) Gaddis, Jr. and Kendra M. Gaddis Both of Jackson, Mississippi and Jason Gaddis of Harlem, New York; brothers in law, William (Thressa) Love of Greenville, Mississippi and Joseph Love of St. Louis, Missouri; sister in law, Vernell Peeples of Warren Michigan, Mary A. Love, Jacqueline Love Perry, of St. Louis, Missouri and Christine (Henry) Rucker and Kaotha Tate, all of Greenville, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
