Obituary
Brother Melvin Wallace was born on June 1,1940, in Edwards, Mississippi, to George and Demenia Wallace. He departed this life on or around Friday, February 26, 2016 at his residence in Detroit, Michigan.
Melvin accepted Christ at an early age, where he joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi.
In 1959, he moved to Los Angeles, California and then moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1965.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by: one brother, Robert Eugene Wallace and two sisters, Bertha Mae Ragans and Carrie Hill.
Melvin leaves to mourn his passing: seven children, Calvin (Shirley) Thompson, Jackson, Mississippi, Kathy (Willie) Brown, Bolton, Mississippi, James Patrick Wallace, Los Angeles, California, Michael Wallace, Phillip Wallace, Matthew Wallace and Kelly Van Tree, all of Detroit, Michigan; three brothers, Willie Ester Wallace, Los Angeles, California, George Wallace, Atlanta, Georgia and Bennie Wallace of Edwards, Mississippi; three sisters, Louise Virginia Myricks, Norfolk, Virginia, Mamie A. Marshall, Edwards, Mississippi and Rosie D. Barber, Bolton, Mississippi; several grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
