Obituary
Mr. Roosevelt "Tommy" Coverson was born on March 24, 1956 in Edwards, Mississippi to the late Mrs. Lucille Kidd Coverson Reed and the late Mr. DeArthur Coverson. At an early age he joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
His early education was in the Edwards Public schools. He was the first black to attend the all white school in Edwards. He continued his education at Hinds County Agricultural High School in Utica, Mississippi. He was a retired Construction Laborer.
He was preceded in death by: his father, DeArthur Coverson; mother, Lucille Kidd Coverson Reed; and brother, James Coverson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his only child, his daughter, Ashley Nicole Montgomery of Jackson, Mississippi; three brothers, LeArthur Coverson, Danny Coverson and Dwight Coverson of Chicago, Illinois; two aunts, Verlene Willis of Edwards, Mississippi and Annie Mae Horton of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two uncles; Oliver Coverson of Chicago, Illinois and Willie Earl Johnson (Louretta Johnson) of Edwards, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
