​Mr. Sammie James Christmas-Davis, Jr. age 41, of Edwards, MS died on July 1, 2016 in Hinds County.
Funeral Service will be Saturday July 16, 2016 at United MB Church at 12:00 noon. Address is 18085 Old 
Highway 80 in Edwards, MS. Visitation will be Friday July 15, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm at
Willis and Sons Funeral Home, 5235 Robinson Road Ext, Jackson, MS 39204. For any additional 
information call Willis and Sons Funeral Home.

Obituary 

Respectful, funny and a heart of gold are all the words that describe Sammie James Davis, Jr., a hard worker and loving husband, son, father and brother to his family.

Mr. Sammie James Davis, Jr., was born November 10, 1974 to the late Sammie James Davis and Mary Ann Christmas Davis.  He was a loving and caring person who loved the outdoors.  He loved to entertain family and friends along with keeping them in check when needed.  

Sammie was the proud and loving son of Sammie James Davis, Sr., who preceded him in death.  On July 1, 2016 Sammie James Davis, Jr., rejoined his father as he transitioned to his eternal reward.  

Sammie was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Christine Christmas; his aunts, Gladys Tarvin, Carrie Davis and Barbarette Davis; uncles, Charles Christmas and Clifton Willis; great aunts, Maddie German and Saddie German; grandfathers, Franklin Maze and Charlie Davis, Sr.; and cousins, James Earl German and Donna Davis Stamp.

Sammie was joined in holy matrimony to Victoria A. Buchanan on June 26,2016, in Jackson Mississippi.

To mourn his passing, but cherish his memories, he leaves:  a loving and devoted wife, Victoria A. Davis, of Edwards, Mississippi; four daughters, Santangela White of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Shontia McFarland of Jackson, Mississippi, Daleshia Lindsey of Jackson, Mississippi and Aisreal Buchanan of Edwards, Mississippi;  two sons, JaMarquez McFarland of Jackson, Mississippi and William Buchanan, II of Rantoul, Illinois; his mother, Mary Ann Davis of Edwards, Mississippi, grandmother, Lorretta (Willie Earl) Johnson of Edwards, Mississippi; four sisters, Denetric (LeRozell) Davis-Spann of Jackson, Mississippi, Ms. Christine (Patrick) Brookshire of Edwards, Mississippi, Valaria (Maurice) Davis-Horton of Beaumont, Texas and Melissa Jones of Sacramento, California; three brothers, Willie Christmas of Bakersfield, California, Jarvaris Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, and Anthony Jones of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three sisters-in-laws, Kendra (John) Johnson-Tyler of Byram, Mississippi, Nickole Ragans of Bakersfield, California and Shirley (Toney) Norrise-Vaughn of Jackson, Mississippi;  one brother-n-law, James Montgomery of Clinton, Mississippi; five aunts, Willie B. Goings and Gloria Christmas, both of Jackson, Mississippi, Alma Mack and Mattie Hunter, both of Edwards, Mississippi, Ms. Geneva (Bennie) Ragans-Wilson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; four uncles, Willie Earl Johnson, Jr., of Edwards, Mississippi, Walter Christmas of Jackson, Mississippi and Robert Johnson and Kevin  Johnson, both of Alpharetta, Georgia.  Sammie loved all of his family, but he had special love for Alma Mack, Keithshaun Davis, Valaria Davis-Horton, Lewis Tarvin and Lee Down.  Sammie's best friends, Anthony Shirley, Larry Johnson, Danny Johnson, Shawn Anderson, Jeffrey Carroll, Joseph Hunter, Dexter Burks and Curtis Lee Thomas.  Favorite cousins, Wendell Christmas, Courtney Christmas and Derrick Christmas; eight nephews, thirteen nieces and a grandson all cherish his memories as well.
