Obituary

On Tuesday, April 8, 1952, in the Town of Edwards, Mississippi, Ethel "Pocket" and Irene Moss Ivory was blessed with a handsome son that they name William J. Ivory.

Nod, as he was affectionately called by family and friends was always an inquisitive young child. He began elementary school at the tender age of five and continued his education at Edwards Junior High School and Hinds Country A.H.S.

He loved his family and he loved life. He was particularly attached to his cousin, Chet. He gave his love selflessly. He was always the comedic relief of the family. He would have everyone crying with laughter but he would maintain the straightest face as if he was up to nothing at all. He kept check n all of his family and friends to endure that they were always safe.

There was a serious side to Nod's life that many people did not see. Nod never allowed anything negative to deter his day or week. He knew that his Heavenly Father cared for him and he knew that there was a purpose for his life.

Nod accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Friendship M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C.L. West. Nod always let you know whatever mistakes he had made in the past, he had repented and Jesus had forgiven him. He had a personal encounter with the Lord and developed a personal relationship with God the Father, Jesus his Son and the Holy Spirit.

We realize that our dad, granddad, brother, uncle, cousin and friend has truly found rest and is at peace with his God. Those we love most must someday pass beyond our present sight... must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light. The radiance of this diamond of a gem will always glow in the hearts of his
