Mr. Johnson will be laid to rest Saturday May 31, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church in Edward MS, at 11:00 a.m.   Committal will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bolton, MS.   Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.. to 7:00 p.m.

Obituary

Willie Joe Johnson was born on October 14, 1953 in Campaign, Illinois to the late Delmar Johnson, Sr. and the late Nancy Bell Johnson.  He attended school in Rolling Fork, Mississippi and later joined the United States Army.  He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Buria Missionary Baptist Church in Cary, Mississippi, where he served as a junior deacon.  In his later years, he joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church family and was member of the choir.  He died on May 27, 2014, at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home in Vicksburg Mississippi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; two sisters and four brothers, Linda Pearly Webster, Betty Johnson, Danny Webster, Larry Johnson, Bernard Webster and Quintin Webster.

He is survived by: seven children, Phalecia Johnson Sanders (James), Willie Johnson (Uridisee), Roderick Johnson, Jeremy Johnson  (Veniayetta), Jocelyn Johnson, Kayla Johnson, and Shaquita Taylor; four brothers: Delmar Johnson, Jr. (Debra), Robert Johnson (Annie), Rickey Johnson and Jeffery Johnson; eight sisters, Mary Ann Berry (James), Peggy Johnson (Charles), Patricia Webster, Jeanette Webster Bolton (James), Pamela Johnson, Gloria Johnson, Debra Johnson, and Michelle Johnson.  Other survivors include, thirteen grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends, including the Mack family and John Rozell, III.
