Mrs. Bernice Manuel, funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Society Ridge Baptist Church Pocahontas, MS at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Willis and Sons Funeral Home 5235 Robinson Road Ext., Jackson MS. Interment at church cemetery.
Obituary
Born in Hinds County, on February 2, 1938, Bernice was the fifth child born to the late Eugene Wells, Sr., and the late Mrs. Mary Lee Scott-Wells.
She Confessed Christ and united with Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After finding her soul-mate, the late David "Sidney" Manuel, Jr., she moved her servant-hood to Society Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. With this union they had ten children. Two daughters preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Bernice leaves cherished memories to: her devoted and caring children, four sons, Jerome (Wanda), David, III (Brenda), Donald (Jeannette) and Willie; four daughters, Lula, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda, Joanne and Bertha; and one son-in-law, Cleophus Crisler all of Jackson, Mississippi; one brother, Cardoza Wells (Lottie); one sister, Eveara Manuel; two special sisters, Joyce Henderson and Bessie Tyler; a special son, Richard Brown; and her dear sisters in Christ (special friends) Lillian Henderson and Lucille Ranson; a host of grandchildren other relatives and friends.
