Mrs. Wheaton will be laid to rest Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. James M. B. Church, Edwards, MS.  Her services will begin at 12:00 p.m.  Committal will be at St. James Church Cemetery, Edwards, MS.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Obituay

     Diana Montgomery Wheaton was born on March 28, 1960 to Ms. Liza Ann Coleman and the late, Melvin Hunter in Edwards, MS.  She made her transition from Earth to Heaven on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS.

     Diana accepted her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as a young child and united with Green Grove Baptist Church in Edwards, MS.  She continued her faith in Christ and united with St. James Missionary Baptist Church serving as trustee under the leadership of Pastor Benard McKinley.

     Diana attended Hinds Agricultural High School of Utica, MS.  She graduated Salutatorian, Class of 1977.  She went on to pursue her education at Utica Junior College and from there, an undergraduate at Jackson State University. 

     Later in years, she became a nurse and earned her Practical Nurse Certification from Hinds Community College and worked at the Mississippi State Hospital for several years.  She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she continued her nursing career.  Years later, she returned home to start a business named Genesis Four Season Personal Care Home.  In addition, because of her love and care for others, she decided to open a second business entitled, Grace and Mercy Home Health Care, in honor of her late grandmother, Thelma Montgomery. 

     Diana united in holy matrimony to the late James Coverson.  The love they both shared for the birth of there son, James Rashae Montgomery, has no end.  Years later, Diana united in holy matrimony to Christopher Wheaton and unto them, a child was born, Christopher Jordan Wheaton, where as their love for him will prevail. 

     Diana leaves to cherish her precious memories: sons, James Rashae Montgomery (Lashandra Johnson) and Christopher Jordan Wheaton of Clinton, MS; five grandchildren, Jaliea and James, Jr., of Clinton, MS, JaJa, Jordan and James of Edwards, MS; six sisters, Mary McCoy (James), Inette Williams and Doretha Coleman both of Jackson, MS, Gloria Ellison of Atlanta, GA, Wanda Coleman and Theresa Hunter of Edwards MS; brothers, Henry Coleman, Jr., of Byhalia MS,  Johnny Hunter (Brenda) of Edwards, MS; Oliver Coverson and Melvin Hunter, Jr., of Chicago, IL; and uncle, Roosevelt Montgomery Jr., (Corine) of Pascagoula, MS; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     Preceding her in death:  grandmother, Thelma Montgomery; aunt Ruby Coleman; sisters, Doris Coleman and Mattie Mae Dulaney; brothers, Andrew Coleman, Elvin Hunter and Larry Hunter.
