Mrs. Harris will be laid to rest Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Freiendship MB Church, Edwards, MS.  Her services will begin at 12:00 noon.  Committal will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Edwards, MS.  Visitation will be Friday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Obituary 

Edna "Big Ma" Moore Harris
With the radiance and glow of an angel Edna was born to the late Alfred and Lillie Peoples Moore on March 3, 1936, in the "Downing Community", Hinds County, Mississippi.

"Big Ma" as we affectionately called her, Worked many years at Cal-Maine Food, Inc., before she retired.  Her spiritual faith took her to Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, in Edwards, Mississippi.

"Big Ma" had many qualities, she will be remembered most for her genuine love for people.  She was a great talker, and whether with friends or family she was quick to address and debate the topic of the day and never was at a loss of words.  The love she had for people and was kind and giving, always there for others and always supportive.

"Big Ma" received her final call from God on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi with her daughters and grand children at her side.  She was preceded in death by:  her husband, Will T. Harris; loving daughter Lillian M. Harris; grandson Collars T. Moore; great granddaughter Jamie C. Price; (4) sisters, Mae H. Wilson, Lillie Boyd, O.D. McCoy and Bernice Trim; (4) brothers, Jacob Dixon, Calvin Moore, Wilbert Moore and Elbert Moore. 

Left to cherish her memories are: daughters, (7) Elver L. Moore, Betty (Larry) Neal, Shirley (James) Price, Ella M. Johnson, Alma L. Garrett and Dorothy J. Harris all of Edwards, Mississippi and Mary (Lawrence) Huff of Deerfield Beach, Flordia; (2) sons John D. Ester and Robert E. Harris of Deerfield, Flordia; her only sister, Minnie L. Beacham  of Jackson, Mississippi; Kaldrian Moore a grandson whom she raised as her son; twenty-one grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; three sister-in-law Eunice Moore of Edwards, Mississippi, Arlean Jenkins (Willie) of Jackson, Mississippi and Rosie Stuggins of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers-in-law, M.C. Harris (Cookie) and Henry Harris (Barbara) both of Toledo, Ohio and John Trim, Sr., of Riverdale, Illinois; God-daughter Sharon Anderson and two God-sons Ricky L. Tucker and Antonio Gray; special niece Betty J. Moore-Dotson and special nephew Oscar Wilson; special niece Betty J. Moore-Dotson and special nephew Oscar Wilson ; three dear friends, Martha B. Strong, Priscilla Pritchard and Bobby (Hoochie) Barnett; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended families including Shears, Boyd, People, Jenkins, Burks and Howard.
