Mrs. Joyce Robinson Brown will be laid to rest Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hood Baptist Church in Clinton, MS.  Visitation will be Friday at Willis and Sons Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Obituary

Ms. Joyce Robinson Brown was born on September 14,1956 to Mr. John Curtis Robinson, II and Mrs. Rebecca Martin Robinson in Hinds County, Jackson,  Mississippi.  Joyce is the oldest of seven children.  Joyce professed her love for Christ at an early age and joined Mount Hood Missionary Baptist Church of Clinton, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. Madison Alexander.

Joyce graduated from Lanier High School in 1974.  She then attended Jackson Stated University,  Hinds Community Jr. College.  While at Hinds, Joyce was a proud member of the Hinds Hi-Steppers, one of the oldest precision dance lines in the nation.  Joyce also attended Philips Business College were she earned an Associated Degree in Business.

Joyce was employed at the Mississippi State Tax Commission for several years.  At the time of her passing, Joyce was employed part-time by Reckitt Benckiser in Brandon, MS.

Joyce had an energetic spirit that attracted many to her, along with her magnetic smile.  She loved dancing, acting sewing and drawing which were just a few of her many talents that she used to entertain and nurture those that knew her best.  Joyce, or JJ, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, was a deeply loving, protective, sharing and loyal grandmother, mother, sister and friend.

Joyce crossed over and became absent from the body and present with God and preceding ancestors on Sunday, June 29,2014.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing; her two children, Stacy LaShaun Robinson and Timothy William (TiArah) Robinson; two grandchildren, Tymiere William Robinson and Taylor Marie Robinson; parents, John Curtis and Rebecca Robinson; three sisters, Linda Fay Thurmond of Naperville, IL, Loria Ann O'Soloman of Inglewood, CA and Sandra Evett Robinson off Jackson MS; three brothers, John Curtis Robinson, III of Jackson,  MS, Claude Laverne (Dixie) Robinson and Dr. Michael Anthony (Brenda) Robinson of Terry, MS; four aunts, Lenora Robinson, Naomi Robinson and Gloria (Willie) Taylor all of Jackson, MS and Bettye Jo (Charlie) Speed of Los Lunas, NM; four uncles, Peter (Jean) Martin of Chicago, IL, Charles (Andria) Robinson of Harvey, IL, Lonzo Wilkerson of Los Angles, CA and Floyd Robinson of Jackson, MS.

Joyce also leaves behind two long time friends (like sisters), Robbie Harper and Carolyn Sutton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many more good friends.

Funeral time my understanding time is Sunday @ 11:00am not 1:00 am I wrong?
