Mrs. Ola Pearl Tucker Beck, age 65 of Jackson, MS died on June 03, 2016. Funeral Services will
be Saturday June 11, 2016 at Willis and Sons Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Location, 5235 Robinson Road Ext. Jackson, MS 39204. Visitation will be Friday June 10, 2016 from 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
Obituary
Ola Pearl Tucker Beck was born on August 31, 1950 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Bertha Lee Tucker and James Barns, Sr. She departed this life on Friday June 3,2016 at Cottage Grove Nursing Home in Jackson, Mississippi.
At an early age she joined Institutional A.M.E. Church, now known as B0nner Institutional A.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She served as President of the Missionary Society. She loved her church, her pastor, and all of her church members. She helped in the community and was an advocate for caring for the elderly.
Ola was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Rissah Court #80.
She was a graduate of Brinkley High School, class of 1968. She furthered her education of Jackson State College. There she earned a B. A. degree in English and Foreign Language.
She was an employee at Delphi Packard for 18 years until she became disabled.
On October 8,1971, she was joined in holy matrimony to Osbey W. Beck, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Lee Tucker; three (3) sisters, Flonnie Tucker, Ethel Tucker Thompson and Lonia Tucker Shell; and two (2) brothers, Joe Louis Tucker and Thomas James Tucker.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Osbey W. Beck, Jr.; one (1) son, Thomas J. Beck; two (2) daughters, Carolyn M. Beck and Dorris J. Beck; two (2) brothers, Floyd Tucker and James Barns Jr.; one (1) sister, Mary Barns Wade; seven (7) grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
