Obituary

On Tuesday, September 27, 1977 at 5:57 a.m., I was born Valyncia Chantel Bailey, affectionately called by family and friends "Pee Momma", weighing in at 6 lb. 13 oz. to Ms Carolyn Bailey.

I grew up in the town of Edwards, MS and accepted Christ as my Savior at an early age under the leadership of Dr. Rev. M. K. Nelson.  It was there at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where I first found my passion for singing/music.  After relocation to Jackson, MS, I decided to join in membership with New Horizon Church International, under the pastoral care of Bishop Ronnie Crudup Sr., whom I love like a father.

I spent my early years of education at Edwards Attendance Center.  In May of 1996 I graduated a proud Raymond Ranger. I then continued my studies at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS; gaining a degree in music.  After which time, I attended the Allied Nursing Center in Jackson, MS and received my Bachelor of Science degree.  Let's keep it moving.  I received my Master degree and was shy 3  months of receiving my PhD.  In 2009 I gain employment with the Sonny Montgomery VA Hospital where I served faithfully until my departure.  I currently held the position of Administrative Management Assistant.  I loved being in the position which allowed me to do what I do best "love people." I was a member of countless numbers of community, church, and school organizations.

I loved life and lived each day as if it was my last one and so should you.  Music and singing were the joy of my life.  I thank God for giving me the opportunity to give Him praise through my singing.  However, my time here expired and now I'm in Heaven signing in the "Angelic" choir.

On Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 6:13 a.m. upon my arrival in Heaven, several of my loved ones met me rejoicing.  I'm in the presence of God with  my maternal great grandparents, Frank (Sarah) Singleton, my paternal great grandparents, Mahatma (Lizzie) Liddell, my maternal great grandfather, Samuel Richardson, my paternal grandparents, Amos (Bertha) Liddell and Thomas Alexander, my great aunt, Ester Robinson, my great uncles Alex Singleton and Willie J. Richardson, uncle Tyrone Liddell, and other loved ones and friends.  It's so nice to see everyone again!

I leave to celebrate my home going, my husband, David Swiney; my son Caleab Pickens; my mother Carolyn Wilson all of Jackson MS; my father(s) Ronald Liddell (Ann) of Detroit MI, Andrew Beasley of New Port News, VA; my great grandmother, Bessie Richardson of Edwards, MS; maternal grandparents, Ozell (Leola) Bailey of Jackson, MS; my paternal grandmother, Mabel Wells of Jackson, MS; four sisters: LaTricia (Reginald) Coleman of Jackson, MS; Juanisha (Peter) Williams of Tampa FL, Alicia (Terrence) Barlow of Nashville, TN, China McGrew of Richland, MS; four brothers: Marcus (Katresha) Bailey of Clarksville, TN, Samuel (Takeila) Wilson of Bolton, MS, Raphael Cornelius of Jackson, MS, Andrew Johnson of New Port News, VA; three uncles: Ozell (Debra) Bailey of Orlando, FL, Ronald (Stephanie) Bailey of Kennesaw Georgia, Dennis Liddell of Milwaukee, WI; seven aunts, Sarah (Eugene) Daughtrey of Jackson, MS, Linda Liddell of Jackson, MS, Deborah (Randy) Sanders, of Milwaukee, WI, Rosalie Alexander, Wilma Alexander, Cora Webb, all of Jackson, MS, Cynthia Alexander of New Port News, VA.
A very special father figure, Malcolm May, special friends, LuShelia Thompson, Vickie Curtis, Angela Stubbs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
