Ms. Berry will be laid to rest Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Humble COGIC in Jackson Mississippi. Her services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 (family present 5:00 - 7:00).
Obituary
Ms. Christine Berry was born February 7, 1946 to Mr. Leon Williams and Mrs. Mary Jo Williams of Belzoni, Mississippi. On the 30th day of September, 2014 God sent "His Angel" to Jackson, Mississippi to select a "Laborer" from His earthly garden. His choice was Ms. Christine Berry. She received her education from Belzoni, Mississippi public school system.
At an early age she accepted Christ and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Saillis, Mississippi. Later, she moved to Jackson, Mississippi were she joined New Stranger Home Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and worked on the usher board. She was employed as a cook at Steverson Kitchen, and Homes Dining Room.
She is preceded in death by: bother her parents, Mr. Leon Williams and Mrs. Mary Jo Williams; two sisters, Ms. Bessie Mae Williams and Mrs. Mary Goins; three brothers, Mr. James Jackson, Jr., Mr. Henry J. Stokes and Mr. Robert Williams, Jr.
Ms. Christine Berry leaves to cherish precious memories: two sons, Robert L. Williams (Patricia) and Mr. James L Berry (Carolyn); two daughters, Mrs Sara Jones (Johnny) all of Jackson, Mississippi, and Ms. Levern Williams of Rankin County; one brother, Mr. Leon Williams of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister in law, Helen Jackson of Sallis, Mississippi; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
