Ms. Williams will be laid to rest Sunday, July 12, 2015 at United MB Church, Edwards, MS. Her services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Committal will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Edwards, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Obituary
Essie Belle Thomas Williams was born on May 14, 1943 to the late Luther Thomas and Marie Coverson Thomas in Edwards, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by Jakki Marie Perkins (Daughter), and Eddie and Freddie Thomas (Brothers).
Essie accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorage of Reverend Jackson.
Essie attended Edwards Jr. High School, Utica Jr. College and later attended Jackson State University. She was employed with Hinds County Human Resource for thirty-eight years.
Essie Belle Thomas Williams will forever be cherished by: her children, Patrick Thomas, Atlanta Georgia, Sonja Williams, Camille (Calvin) Williams, FeFe (Jimmy) Barnett, and Kawann Williams of Edwards, Mississippi. She will also be missed by: her brother, Booker T. Thomas, Vicksburg, Mississippi; sister, Ira L. Thompson (Melvin, Sr), Edwards, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Shevaka (Travion) Bowie, Edwards Mississippi, Robert (Amy) Perkins, Jr., Meridian, Mississippi, & Faith and Joy Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Amia and Shakia Bowie, Jayden and Paisley Perkins; son-in-law Robert Perkins, Sr., Vicksburg, Mississippi; God-son, Louis Johnson, Jr.; special friends, Katherine Morrison, Diane Mixon, Louretta Johnson, and Linnie Pearl Lewis.
