Ms. Williams will be laid to rest Saturday, April 26, 2014 St. John M. B. Church, at 11:00 a.m. Committal will be at Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Family present 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.) on Friday, April 26, 2014.
Obituary
Ms. Geneva (Nig) Williams was born February 16, 1926 in Bolton, Mississippi to the late Mary and Percy Williams.
Geneva grew up in the St. Thomas/Bolton community and received her education from St. Thomas school. She confessed Christ at an early age joining St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church in Bolton, Mississippi, under the leadership of Reverend Robert West. Geneva later move to Jackson, Mississippi, where she joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by Independent Linen and Milwaukee Tools.
By her loving family and friends, Geneva will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her willingness to lend a helping hand no matter what time of day or night, and her excellent cooking especially her VERY moist cornbread dressing.
Geneva depart this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory: six daughters, Etta Williams of Jackson Mississippi, Carolyn Robinson and Bettye "BJ" (Lee deceased) Williams of Bolton Mississippi, Geraldine Shearrill, of Jackson, Mississippi, Helen Williams of Chicago, Illinois, and Yolanda (David) Boyd of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons Thomas (TJ) Williams and Michael Shearill of Jackson, Mississippi; two sisters, Thelma (Kid) Louis and Odessa (Pig) Huellitt; one sister-n-law Lottie Williams, and a host of grandchildren, great nieces, and nephews. One brother, John Williams, one son L>B> (Butch) Williams and one grandson Bobby Williams preceded her in death.
