Mrs. McPearson will be laid to rest Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Cherry Grove M. B. Church, 2840 Mt. Moriah Road, Edwards, MS. Her services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Committal will be at Cherry Grove Church Cemetery, Edwards, MS. Visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2015 at Willis and Son Funeral Home, Jackson, MS from 1:00 - 7:00 pm. |

James Ester McPhearson was born on December 12, 1939, to the late Eva Coleman-Smith and L.C. Smith, Raymond, Mississippi.
A time to plant and worship....
James Ester was raised in a strong Christian home and accepted Christ at a early age. She joined Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Edwards, Mississippi, where she served as a faithful member and usher until her health failed.
A time to wed....
She united in Holy Matrimony March 14, 1958, to Golie B. McPhearson, Sr., in her early years. They been married for over 57 years. To this union six children were born.
A time to work and love....
Valuing her education, James Ester was educated at Mt. Moriah School and Utica Junior College until the 10th grade. Later in life she received her GED from Hinds Community College in 1994. James Ester was a phenomenal woman who reared six children who gladly adored her. She worked for White Castle Restaurant, Holiday Inn Hotel, and Magna America during her early years of life. James Ester received her Social Work License in August 1994 while she was employed at Hinds County Human Resource Agency as a Social Worker for several dedication years until retirement. She liked to stay busy, in retirement she worked as a nurse aide, providing stay home care to many patients of many families. James Ester loved to cook, especially cakes, pies which where her specialties. You would always find her in the kitchen cooking for her children, grandchildren, friends, and family. James Ester provided special care and love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They referred to her as "Mamoo".
A time to harvest...
On Tuesday around 4:40 a.m., November 23, 2015, at her home in Edwards, Mississippi, with her family by her side, God reached down in His garden to pluck one o His flowers. he made his unmistakable choice according to His perfect will and chose James Ester to take His external home. James Ester absent now in the flesh, she leaves a spiritual inheritance to her husband, children, grand-children and great-grandchildren one that established in them a desire to know God, trust God, and always depend on Him.
In addition to her parents, a second mother: the late Sarah S. McPhearson; three siblings: Altoria McPhearson, Fannie Pearl Wilson and Willie James Smith; and one great grandchild Ty-Leysha Nichols, preceded her in death.

James Ester leaves to cherish her eternal memories, her husband, Golie B. McPhearson, Sr., two sons: Golie B. (Yolanda) McPhearson, Jr., and Christian (Sharon) McPhearson, Sr., Edwards, Mississippi; four daughters: Elnora McPhearson, Lurline McPhearson, Eva (Kenneth) Bracey, Diane (Willie) Tarvin, Edwards, Mississippi; two sisters: Hattie Smith and Earnestine Smith, Bolton, Mississippi; one brother: John C. (Margaret) Smith, Jackson, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren: LeMika McPhearson, Devon McPhearson, TeNika McPhearson, Angelette McPhearson, Keunta McPhearson, Hakeem Rozell, SaToria McPhearson, TaShyna Dupree, TraDarrius McPhearson, Tan-Tanesha (Tyler) McPhearson, Christian McPhearson, Jr., Edwards, Mississippi and JaMarcus Wilson, Crystal Springs, Mississippi; six great grand grandchildren: DaMario McPhearson, JaMika McPhearson, TaNiyah McPhearson, Emoriee McPhearson, Alicia Coleman, and Taylor Stamps, Edwards, Mississippi, one aunt: Ossie Coleman, Rolling Fork, Mississippi; two cousins: Hubbard (Clemetine) Smith, Edwards, Mississippi; Gladys Robinson, Habana, Illinois, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church members. A special friend Susie Mosley and very special niece Tasha Smith.
