Obituary

In God's infinite timing, He brought into this world one of His precious masterpieces, a beautiful bag girl named Kattie on July 4, 1933, and place her in the loving care of her parents-the Late Madison and Hassie (Milton) Estell of Madison County, Mississippi.  She entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at the Madison County Nursing Home.

Kattie was the third of seven children.  She was nurtured and raised by Christian parents who believed that the beginning of wisdom started with the knowledge of God, so at an early age, Kattie gave her life to Christ and joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member.  She was educated in the Madison County Public School System attending grade school and later graduated from Camden High school in 1954.  Her career followed a pattern of dedicating her life to rendering services to others-Domestic work, being a Care Giver to children, and working in the Head Start Program.

Kattie was united in holy matrimony to the Late Hershel Lee Campbell in 1958, and to this union two children were born Marvin Glenn and Demetria.  She later became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. James C. Matthews.  She was a active member of the church attending Sunday School and she took an active role in the Missionary Society where she served as Mission Vice-President for several years.  She was also over Food Service at the church for several years.  In her later years, when her health begin to fail, she went to live in the Canton Nursing Home and remained there until her death.

Three sisters-Ruthie Mae, Celistra (Milton) Johnson, Alvin Lee (John) Ashford and one step daughter, Lillie Ruth (James-deceased) Lowe preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  two children, Marvin Glenn (Greta) Campbell of Jackson, Mississippi and Demetria (Tony) Daugtrey of Pickens, Mississippi; two step daughters, Annie Mae (Herse Lee) Ransom of Flora, Mississippi and Catherine (Leroy) Berry of Jackson, Mississippi; two sisters, Mildred Wardena (A. V. Crump) Estell, and Naomi (Hiram-deceased) Robinson of Pickens, Mississippi; one brother, LaPlark Estell, Sr., of Richmond, Texas; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and many, many more relatives and friends.
