Ms. Laquita S. Roy, funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at China Grove Baptist Church, Jackson MS at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Willis and Sons Funeral Home 5235 Robinson Road Ext., Jackson MS. Interment: Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, Jackson, MS.
Obituary
LaQuita Shanta Roy was born on December 9,1978 in Jackson, Mississippi to Josie Roy and the late Anthony Roy. She was the second oldest of four children.
LaQuita excepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B. L. Shelby. LaQuita was a graduate of Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi. She attended Hinds Community College where she majored in Accounting. Her greatest desire was driving 18 wheeler Trucks. She obtained her CDL and gained employment with Nissan/Carter Trucking Company until her untimely death.
LaQuita had a passion for professional football and was an avid fan of the "Dallas Cowboys." She had a beautiful spirit and a loving personality and will be truly missed by many.
Preceding her in death were: her father, Anthony Roy; grandmother, Bessie Finch; grandfathers, Weaks Roy, Jr., and Joseph Gross; and two uncles, Levy Brown and Dannie Brown.
LaQuita leaves to cherish her memories: a loving mother, Josie Wells and step father, Lewis Wells; two sisters, Latoya Roy and Cassandra Baker; two brother, Lorenzo Brown and Anthony Marquis Roy; grandmother, Ann Elizabeth Roy; one great-aunt, Dessie Ree Fortenbury; aunt, Rosalind Roy; children, Andrea LaTonya Wells and Lewis Wells, Jr; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends including a special, Shekela Thomas and her children, Arronna, Avion and Andrea.
