Mrs. Mary "Mae-Lou" Williams Blackmon age 65 of Jackson.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 1, 2017 at New Galilean M. B. Church, 3830 W. Flag Chapel Road, Jackson MS at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be Friday, June 30, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Willis and Sons Funeral Home. Interment at Autumn Woods Memorial Garden, Jackson, Mississippi.   

Obituary 

Mary W. Blackmon passed away on June 26, 2017, surrounded by her family.  Mary was born December 6, 1951 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Dave and Rosa Lee Williams.  At an early age Mary accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Madison, Mississippi.  Mary later went on to join White Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary graduated from Central High School in 1970.  She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Virgil Lane Blackmon, Jr. in 1972.  To that union two daughters were born, Cassandra and Crystal.  Mary went on to become employed as a dispatch clerk to technicians with AT&T Telecommunication Company, where she was a dedicated worker for 34 years until her retirement on March 28, 2009.

Mary was a loving, caring and devoted mother to her daughters Cassandra, Crystal and April; an awesome Granny to her grandsons Wesley "JR", Jaxon, Jonas and her furry friend Mr. Buttons. 

Mary was preceded in death by: her parents, Dave and Rosa Lee Williams; former husband, Virgil Lane Blackmon, Jr.; her brothers, Dave, Ben and Jessie Williams; sisters, Eva Macklin, Dicey Mae Thomas and Rosie Lee Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  three daughters and one son in law whom she treated as her own, Cassandra, Crystal, April (O.J.) and Wesley Garner, Sr.; three grandchildren, Wesley Garner, Jr., Jaxon Ford and Jonas Ford.  She also leaves to cherish her memory four sisters, Lillie Williams, Gladys (Eddie) Shebly, Linda and Melissa Williams; two brothers George and Floyd Williams, seven sisters in-law, Juanita (Richard) Harris, Mae Etta Lymon, Margaret (Johnny) Robinson, Veria (Clyde) Green, Pauline (Donald) Darjean, Darlene (Earnest) Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
